No Fun Guide is an independent guide to things to do in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. We start with a practical question: would you enjoy this, and what would you need to know before heading out?

That might mean a first pickleball class, a short hit at a public tennis court, a farm afternoon or an evening making something with friends. Dates, solo time and small-group plans all belong here.

Why the founder started looking

Some outings stay with you. Our founder and their partner took a pizza-making class and brought home a recipe they still use in an ordinary kitchen. That is the kind of payoff we look for: a good time together, a useful skill or a reason to try something again.

How a guide earns its place

• A clear reason to go. What the outing offers, who it may suit and what could disappoint.
• A usable budget. The relevant party size, equipment, taxes and other extras, with uncertainty made visible.
• The practical next step. Booking, arrival, what to bring and a sensible alternative.

What we know, and how we know it

Researched guides use linked venue information and other identified sources. We show when practical details were checked. Many of our current guides are researched; publication does not mean we have personally visited every place.

From the founder sections contain the founder’s own reported experiences or observations. We identify the limits, including missing visit dates. Visitor reviews belong to their authors and are not presented as our experiences.

Our recommendations are editorial judgments. Suggested time allowances and beginner plans are labelled as suggestions. A “good solo option” does not automatically mean a host will introduce you to people.

Independence and corrections

There are no paid placements in this edition. If a future guide includes a commercial relationship, we will identify it in that guide.
