Burnaby TrackMan ranges: prices and club rentals

Our pick for an inexpensive outing with something to do between conversations: hit a few golf balls, choose a target and see who gets closest. You do not need to build the evening around an entire round. A spectacularly average shot still counts as leaving the house.

Golf Burnaby confirms that Riverway and Burnaby Mountain have TrackMan Range, included with a bucket. Its technology announcement describes a screen in every stall, ball-flight feedback and games. Core features work in guest mode without an account or subscription.

A two-person plan under $25 before tax

Our starting budget is $20.36 before tax for two people: each gets 50 balls and one rental iron at the listed rates. That leaves food, travel and any lessons outside the example. Rental availability still needs checking; this is not a package sold by the venue.

Pick the range with the easier journey, ask for beginner-friendly irons and start with easy swings. Then choose one target and compare a few shots rather than treating every swing as an exam. Our suggested allowance is 45–60 minutes plus any wait, with no meal reservation immediately afterwards.

Already have racquets and a willing partner? Free tennis near Metrotown can cost less. Choose the range when you want something that also works alone or without being able to sustain a rally. Both are casual outings; neither includes an instructor or introductions.

What it costs, including a club

The published rates list:

• 25 balls: $4; 50 balls: $7.50.
• Single rental iron: $2.68; rental driver: $6.25.
• Applicable taxes are additional.

With one rental iron, that makes $6.68 for 25 balls or $10.18 for 50, before tax. Two people each buying 50 balls and renting an iron would spend $20.36 before tax. These are our calculations from the listed prices; travel, food and lessons are extra.

For a first attempt, we would choose the smaller commitment and ask staff which rental club suits a beginner. Confirm availability, including left-handed clubs if needed. Buying more balls is an option after you know whether you enjoy it.

A reserved stall is a different option

Burnaby Mountain’s stall rental is $20 for 50 minutes with unlimited balls, plus applicable tax under the range’s rate listing. Clubs cost extra. Book same-day or next-day by calling 604-280-7355 or visiting in person, subject to availability.

Sessions start on the hour and finish at :50; arriving late does not extend them. Only six stalls can be rented at once, and the exact stall is not guaranteed. If going with friends, confirm the permitted group size when booking. Do not assume a software multiplayer limit is a stall occupancy rule.

Our choice: buy a bucket for a short, flexible attempt; consider the reservation if having a start time matters or you want more practice. You do not need to purchase this upgrade to use TrackMan with a regular bucket.

Make the first visit easy

Our suggested plan is to allow 45–60 minutes plus any wait, start with a few easy swings and then try a target game. That is a planning allowance, not a guaranteed session length.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes with grip; bring a layer. Ask for help finding guest mode if the screen is unfamiliar. Keep friends clear of the swing area and take turns only as the venue permits. The technology can show what the ball did; it does not replace a lesson.

Going alone works as a practice outing. Going with someone gives you a shared activity, but this is not an organized mixer or a promise that staff will pair you with other players.

Pick the easier trip

The official locations are Riverway, 9001 Bill Fox Way, and Burnaby Mountain, 7600 Halifax Street. The latter is the golf course, so use that address rather than the mountain viewpoint.

The range page lists heated lower stalls, lighting and weather-related operating notes. Check the chosen venue before leaving: the City’s range and course pages currently differ on some opening and last-ball times. Arrive comfortably before the sales cutoff. We have not verified a step-free route to a particular stall; ask ahead if that affects your visit.

TrackMan availability is not guaranteed, and the City does not offer a discount or refund when the technology is unavailable. Choose the range because you want to hit balls as well as use the screen.

Prefer an indoor simulator?

For a different kind of evening, Happy Gilmore at Gilmore Place has indoor TrackMan bays and a bar/food setting at 4172 Lougheed Highway, unit 232. You are paying for bay time rather than a bucket.

Its page still labels its prices summer 2026, and the homepage and FAQ disagree on some time bands. We are not treating those as confirmed fall prices. Check your chosen booking, group size and total before paying; the FAQ separately lists $20 per rental club set.
