Taves Family Farms 2026: an adult day-out guide

Our pick for friends or a date who want a full autumn outing: Taves combines a farm wander with activities and deliberately photogenic displays. It is a family attraction, so choose it because you want to join in. This is not our recommendation for a quiet, adults-only escape.

The useful question is whether you want the farm experience or simply want to buy a pumpkin. Those are different afternoons, with different budgets. We have researched the published offering and booking screen; we have not visited.

What makes this more than a pumpkin stop

The 2026 Magic of Fall page highlights Autumn’s Avenue, a foliage passage with vintage chandeliers, beside the Magical Pumpkin Garden. There are also corn mazes and an orchard where picked apples are charged by the bag.

Our suggested approach: choose one activity you both actually want to do, then make the photos a short part of the visit. A maze gives the outing a shared task; apple picking gives you something to use afterwards. Neither requires turning the whole afternoon into a photoshoot. The pumpkin can survive without a personal brand.

Allow 2–3 hours on site as a planning allowance, not a measured visit time. Leave additional room for travel, arrival and queues. If you only want one picture, this is a substantial ticket to justify.

The real budget for two

We checked the official booking screen for Saturday, October 3, 2026, with a 9:30 a.m.–noon parking arrival window:

• Two individual Fun Passes: $65.40, including the displayed $2 fee on each.
• One parking pass: $8.50, including its displayed $2 fee.
• Additional displayed GST: $3.70; processing charge: $2.41.
• Displayed total: $80.01 CAD, before food, fruit, pumpkins or optional add-ons.

This is a dated checkout example, not a price promise for the season. No purchase was made. The Fun Pass lists the pumpkin garden, mazes, animal areas and one Mystical Slide ride; SuperFUN adds the hayride and unlimited slide rides. Check activity restrictions and inclusions before choosing.

Our recommendation is the Fun Pass if the displays and mazes are the draw. Upgrade only if you want the added activities. Put food and take-home purchases in a separate budget before everyone arrives hungry.

Book the visit you actually want

The farm advises booking at least 24 hours ahead for weekend and holiday advance pricing. Its FAQ also describes a gate-only Picking Pass for weekend access to the patch and orchard. That is not the full activity pass. If picking is your only goal, check that option and its parking requirements directly; we did not verify its current price.

At checkout, choose one parking pass per vehicle and an arrival window that your group can realistically meet. Save the ticket confirmation and read its entry instructions. We have not verified a particular gate queue or check-in routine.

The ticket terms state that tickets are non-refundable, including for poor weather; changes may cost extra. Check the forecast before paying. An indoor backup is useful before you commit, not a refund policy afterwards.

Getting there and getting comfortable

The farm’s contact page gives 333 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford. During the current peak season it lists Monday and Wednesday–Friday, 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; weekends, 9:30 a.m.–6 p.m.; Tuesdays closed. September 30 and October 12 use holiday hours, and October 31 closes at 5 p.m. Check your exact date before leaving.

Our packing suggestions are weather layers, shoes you can get muddy and a bag for purchases. Arrange transport before buying; this guide does not establish a workable public-transit connection or step-free route through every activity.

For a weekend meal, note that the FAQ reserves picnic seating for concession customers. Do not build the plan around using those tables for a packed lunch.
